How to Build an Opt-in List I

Do you earn your income from new and repeated customers? A business needs new customers to expand its reach and returning customers to sustain its business. It’s always easier to sell to customers who have purchased from you before and have good experience with the product. Trust is the keyword that keeps them coming back for more and  recommend it to other people.

Your brand name is very important as people tends to follow someone who is an authority. If you are able to prove that you are the guy they should follow, they will follow you loyally till the end.

Building a list is easy. But to create a list of people who trust you require more than just setting an squeeze page to collect leads. A list is worth nothing if nobody trusts you and act on your recommendations. The money is in the responsive list. You are able to generate income at will when your lead are waiting for you to press the hot button.

Today I am going to tell you the things you should avoid doing. This is true from my experience.

If you have been in the internet marketing niche for a few months, you should have subscribed to a few lists. Usually, you sign up in return for a free gift or a report. Giving away free gifts to attract people to sign up to your list is the fastest way to build a list. But remember to be daring to promote something once in a while. It is not a good idea to just send your list free content one after another as you are just building a freebie list. These people are then conditioned to wait for you to give them another free gift and will never act on your recommendations.

Do you always bombarded your subscribers with offers after offers? If you are doing this, then you are pushing your subscribers away to other people list. No content but frequent bombardment of offers will turn people away. You won’t like people to shove you with offers but no real content. Do not do what you don’t want unto others.

Another frequent mistake people commit is that they do not follow up with their leads. Once they get people to sign up to their list. They just ignore them after sending them 7 days of messages. If nobody buys anything, they just move on to create another list promoting another product. Well nobody’s going to buy anything from someone who they don’t trust.

Building a list is simple, maintaining the list is another story altogether. It requires constant effort to maintain a relationship. The internet business is all about dealing with people. Master the people skill and you will be in for a big run.
