Google has probably started dancing the past weeks, and now Evosuccess has advanced from PR2 to PR3.

The PageRank for http://www.evosuccess.com is: Â from blogflux.

Though its not a lot, it is better than nothing. Though a higher page rank may not bring about an increase in traffic from search engines, but it do help in getting your website to be listed easier on Google, given all other factors remained the same.

For those who are selling space for advertisements, it mean an increase in revenue since you can charge higher fees. Those depending on Adsense revenue may well benefit from it since they can get indexed more easily.

However, traffic does not solely depend on PR of a site. PR is just Google way of interpreting whether a site is giving useful information. What matters most is still the content. Without content, traffic is unsustainable.

In blogging, it is the stickness of the blog that brings back readers. By offering useful advices on your blog, people may come to trust you more and look forward to your post everyday. This is what sustains traffic. We do not want to create a mover one day and a shaker the following day.

Here’s an interesting example of how pagerank is calculated. You may like to see how’s the pagerank algorithm work.

Now’s the time to give value. There is now a Yahoo search marketing promotion giving a $100 free clicks when you sign up. Do look out for the coupon at Digital point forum.

Either you will ignore it or you will have the habit of checking it consistently. Well, for my case, whenever the computer has the Google toolbar installed in it, I will check it out most of the time. If you are not sure what I am talking about, it is the little green bar on the Google toolbar. And if it still doesn’t ring a bell, that is the indicator of the page rank of that webpage. The page rank is an indication of how valuable that page and the ranking is given by Google. So why are so many people are obsessed with it?

One thing which is more likely to be true is that if your webpage has high pagerank, whatever updates or the posts which you wrote, will be indexed faster than the rest. And that also means your webpage is highly regarded by Google. I mean, what is better than having been highly regarded by the top search engine around? Anyway, besides having your stuffs being indexed faster than your competitors, more webmasters will more likely to contact you to buy a link from your webpage to theirs. That means another revenue for you! Why people want to do that? Well, some of these link buyers are envious that you are having such long green bar. (I am not joking.) They just want Google to think that if the highly regarded webpage were to link to them, then their websites are of some importance too. Before you are thinking of buying links, I will advise you not to do that as Google doesn’t like such things.

That’s another weird part which I don’t understand. If Google really don’t like such things, then why are they putting the pagerank indicator there? Isn’t it better if the indicator isn’t there in the first place, so that nobody will know its own importance and profit from it? And if Google is not intending to remove it, is there more than meets the eye? I don’t know. But I am just guessing that is there some secrets which we are unaware of?

Pagerank is Google’s way to determine the importance of a website for a certain set of search terms or keywords. Though the Pagerank is not the only factor which gets you a good ranking for a search result, it is an important factor given all other conditions being the same. So if you have a site with high PR, you could potentially be ranked high in Google search engine results for a certain set of keywords.

If two sites ever published the same article at the same time, the website with the lower PR may even worse not be ranked at all in Google since the first site which have the content indexed is the owner of the content and all subsequent indexing of the same content may be considered as duplicates.

So this could potentially happen if a website with a high PR hosts your original article before your low PR blog get indexed for the effort. The high PR site could simply return a reference to your blog and gets away with it. In this way, all the organic traffic which could be yours in the first place become theirs.

Is there any way we can stop this?

The answer is no as there is no way to manipulate Google search engine results. The site with the higher PR will always be on top of you in terms of search engine result for the same set of keywords.

For those with high PR, you may well make this your advantage and increase your profits through the efforts of other poor souls.

For those with low PR, you can only hope that your article is spidered first before anybody comes along and remove you from the search engine result. And please re-edit the PLR articles before publishing it since duplicate content will penalise your site even more. Lastly, try to practise some search engine optimisation to improve your PR to prevent this from ever happening.
