This is a very basic model you can use and it had worked quite well for me and people in other niches. I guess you shouldn’t try this in the internet marketing niche simply because it is too competitive.

1) Create a len on squidoo targeting a product you want to promote using good targeted keywords in the tags.

2) Get listed on Google within a day or 2 and enjoy free targeted traffic from Google. The traffic volume may be awesome if you hit the gush with the right set of keywords.

3) Interest the visitor by giving value in terms of content or review on the product. Do not hardsell on your len. Leave the selling to the sales page. Your aim is just to get your visitors to the sales page.

4) Wait for the profits to come in.

See, you don’t really need a website for affiliate marketing.

Well, that is Squidoo. More and more people are going into making squidoo lens nowadays. In case you are not aware of Squidoo, I will briefly describe what Squidoo is all about. Basically, Squidoo is a website whereby people, from all over the world, will create a “mini-website”, or what we called a Squidoo Lens. They will create a lens based on whatever topic they are interested in. Topics of lens can range from polar bears to how to bake a cake, to even a life story of its lens master. Any topic which you can think of can most probably be found in Squidoo.

Enough of description said, many people are busily creating lens now. In fact, there are more than 160,000 lens made, as of today! That’s about 4 new lens being created at each minute. Some wanted to share their information, while some marketers wanted to make use of lens to promote their products.

Why marketers like Squidoo lens so much? Simply because Google loves Squidoo! By creating a simple lens on Squidoo, your lens will be indexed by Google quite quickly, compared to a new website. This is particularly useful as marketers can make use of Squidoo for advertising their products. In fact, I have made some sales, just by making a lens of it. It is free and it helps to pre-sell your product, even before your potential customers read the sales letter.

Hence, Squidoo proves to be another method of advertising, instead of the conventional pay per click method.

This Autopilot Profits len was set up to test the effectiveness of Squidoo len in marketing a product. Guess it was quite effective initially. But after Google removal of it, I guess it may not be such a good idea to marketing online with a Squidoo len.

The reason being so, there are lots of people who may just promote the same product as you. As a result, there are many duplicate lens having the same headlines and content. The worst part is that they may be using the same keywords as you. The rest is history.

As you have already know that Google dislikes duplicate content, these lens have violated SEO principles resulting in Google removal from its index. I guess many people still doesn’t know that by duplicating lens they see instead of voting for them, they have already defeat their purpose of creating a len since this does nothing good for everyone who is trying to promote the same product.

I guess the only solution to this problem is that everybody cooperates by creating unique headlines and content for their lens.

Google do refresh the lens that are added to the index everyday. I guess they are clearing out junkie lens which are added to the Squidoo every now and then. If the creation of junkie lens does not stop, Google may jolly well derank Squidoo and the SEO boost you get from a Squidoo len will be lost forever.
