Squidoo | Affiliate marketing with Squidoo
By now, you should have known that Squidoo is well liked by big brother Google. It is almost 100% guaranteed to get ranked as no 1 on SERP for non competitive keywords and easy to get ranked on the first page for competitive keywords.
With this feature alone, it is worthwhile to create a len to promote an affiliate product. Organic search result is usually considered 10 times more effective and trustworthy than an ad (eg. Adwords ads). For newbies marketers with tight budgets, it is almost an relief to get listed on search engine without paying a single cent.
So do you see the link now?
Free Targeted Traffic from Google -> Squidoo -> Sales page
This is a very basic model you can use and it had worked quite well for me and people in other niches. I guess you shouldn’t try this in the internet marketing niche simply because it is too competitive.
So to recap,
1) Create a len on squidoo targeting a product you want to promote using good targeted keywords in the tags.
2) Get listed on Google within a day or 2 and enjoy free targeted traffic from Google. The traffic volume may be awesome if you hit the gush with the right set of keywords.
3) Interest the visitor by giving value in terms of content or review on the product. Do not hardsell on your len. Leave the selling to the sales page. Your aim is just to get your visitors to the sales page.
4) Wait for the profits to come in.
See, you don’t really need a website for affiliate marketing.
I hope I have covered the basics of affiliate marketing with Squidoo. Do explore the possibility and share what you know with others here. So everybody can learn along the way.
PS. One last thing, this technique is more geared towards Google, not Yahoo and Msn Live.

thanks so much for the post, Lester.
it’s true that Squidoo’s best, handbuilt, curated lenses get indexed well by search engines. largely because we’ve given the Long Tail a platform and a voice.
of course, making a Squidoo lens is never a guarantee at a top search result spot. it’s not an SEO trick… it’s about making good recommendations and spreading the word about something you care about.
thanks again for the support.
