Remember that I wrote about Squidoo the other day. Perhaps, you have already started making your Squidoo Lens too.

But did you realise that your lens are not attracting as much traffic as you expect it to? Well, we used to face this problem too. But after we have applied some of the basic techniques, our lens rank rises tremendously. Take a look at this. Within a matter of few days, our lens rank can improve by so much. Let’s see how you can achieve that too.

1. Provide useful information

This is extremely important to provide useful information. When people search a certain topic, it is vital to provide relevant information. If your lens doesn’t provide good information, then your visitors will most likely leave your lens very soon. With relevant information, it will increase your credibility and it will make people more willing to refer your lens to their friends. Hence you will get more traffic to your lens too. Of course, a certain amount of SEO techniques should be used while writing on your topic too, in order to maximise the amount of visitors to your lens.

2. Use html codes

Yes, I know some of us will freak out the moment we mentioned about some technical stuffs. But I feel that is vital to know some html codes. For instance, when you want to highlight some important keywords, then you can use <b></b>. Or if you want to italic some of the words, you can use <i></i>. All you need to know is simple html codes so that you can make your lens more interesting. When you are more confident, you can continue to explore more.

3. Promote your lens

Don’t be afraid to promote your lens. Send emails to your list to tell them about your lens. While you are surfing others’ blogs or forums and leave comments, you might want to leave your signature, which can be a link to your lens! In this way, there will be an increase of awareness of your lens.

Besides these 3 methods, I am sure you can come up with creative methods to attract more traffic.
