Have you been in a situation whereby you read your dear friend’s online diary instead of calling her up to know what she is doing? Or perhaps, you are just curious to know how a mega-billionaire life is? Again, you may search for his online diary to know more about his life. In these two simple scenarios, it shows that online diary, or what we call “bloggingâ€, is one of the most recent and personal trends.
As what I have mentioned earlier, it started as online journals which were kept by dedicated bloggers about their own lives, works, problems, etc etc. Practically anything they want to speak off their mind. Today, blogs are growing in popularity as marketing tools and they are a new form of communication that is here to stay. Because blogs are so powerful to create the sense of a “personal†relationship between the blogger and his readers, it makes it so easy for the readers to trust the blogger. By keeping a blog of you own, it invites readers to share your personal life and to trust you. In turn, this makes a great marketing tool and a way to build rapport with the readers. One thing good about using this tool is that people tend to trust what they read in blogs (since it is from other’s experience). This makes it a great place to spread information about your site and niche market.
For example, if you mentioned that you know of an effective way to kill bed bugs and helped you to eradicate the problem, that’s a very personal statement. Almost everyone who reads your blog regularly has almost certainly built up a trust for you, and talking about the method in your blog will make them think of trying it.
Now, if your website is selling methods to kill pests, you may have closed some sales. In fact, if you have introduced and talking about it, without selling the methods, for a long time and even tried it yourself, this will definitely increase the level of confidence customers have in these methods.
In all, blogging is another up and coming intimate sales tools to win trust in your customers. Hence, be sure to build this trust with your customers and make sure that the sales of the methods/ products will truly help your customers, because lost trust can never be regained.
